Additional Features Trunk Group Management Trunk Group Management provides a database of trunk group and member information that is used to make manage the appropriate tables in the switch. This database is synchronized with the switches, and can be queried and used to initiate changes in one or more switches. Changes to this database can come from internal client systems, including systems such as TIRKS, and are used to generate change requests within NetMan. User changes to this information can also be made through the GUI screens. Use of the query capability can be used by network planners, for example, to monitor and manage capacity on available T1 facilities. User Query and Change Reports User Query and Change Request capability is a generic query capability that allows users to do research on the switch network, one switch at a time, or across the entire network. These queries can be customized and exported to common formats for use in other applications. Once created, the results of these queries can be modified and fed back into the NetMan application to perform highly customized and automated changes to the network. Operational Support System (OSS) Interface NetMan supports a variety of OSS interfaces through direct data feeds, or through the scripted dialog language using the platform's existing man-machine interface used by the translators. This enables for a seamless integration with the clients OSS with no impact on day-to-day operations. Clients looking to migrate to newer management platforms can take advantage of this function to phase out the older system with minimal impact to ongoing operation. Significant savings over existing license and maintenance fees can be achieved with this function, as high-priced platforms, such as ConnectVU, TelePATH and MTS are replaced. |
