Product Overview
Developed
and implemented by a major RBOC, the Trunk Optimization
Tool enables you to have a comprehensive view of
your communications network in order to plan, optimize,
and manage its infrastructure.
The tool set is an online solution which provides
access to information on call traffic: traffic flow,
traffic congestion, traffic type, and recommendations
for: optimal routing and optimal design.
By utilizing Trunk Optimization's entire network
view along with its network modification modeling, proposed
changes can be tested and proven to minimize trial and
error implementations. These tools enable network
planning engineers to optimally plan how the network
should evolve, utilizing existing equipment in the most
efficient manner to reduce additional capital expenditures.
Problem
Statement:
-
Offload
recommendations needed to mitigate Class 4 Tandem (Hub) Port
Exhaust driven by increased "First Choice" or "Final Trunk"
routing via the Tandem
-
Identify codes that are not being routed over the optimal
Primary High Usage routes
-
Identify Community of Interest that should "home" on a new
Tandem from "near" and "far" end offices
-
Identify Interconnection Traffic that is not conforming to
Tariffs
What is TrunkOpt?
-
Identification of Communities of Interest, Busy Hour, Busy Hour
Traffic Load Variance, Traffic Peakedness, Traffic Type
Identification
-

Design of Trunk Groups (Direct HU, Intermediate HU and Alternate
Final)
-
Optimal
Offload of "Exhausted" Circuit Switched Tandems, Remote Switch
Umbilical, etc.
-
Optimal
"Code Level" Routing of Calls Optimal Interconnection of Carrier
Traffic (Wireless, IXC and CLEC)
-
