VoIP Solutions Overview

It's no secret that the demand for VoIP service is growing exponentially by the day.  The widespread demand for of this technology carriers with it many issues that may be overlooked in the effort for rapid deployment.  One of these issues is the understanding and processing of the new CDR data format that the VoIP softswitch generates.

One of the largest VoIP providers in the United States recently came to us with this issue.  The provider was terminating a lot of calls from other carriers on their VoIP switches but had no means to analyze the data or generate reciprocal compensation bills for their trading partners because of the complexity of the CDR data.  In order to continue generating usage analysis reports and to process reciprocal compensation bills, the carrier needed a tool to interpret the data.  Rather than making a large investment in developing software internally to handle the new format, the carrier contacted ATS to address the issue.  With our billing knowledge and experience, we quickly developed a VoIP switch to AMA conversion tool that was used to process the new CDR format.  We then used our AMADEUS tool to generate usage reports and reciprocal compensation bills.

The carrier is currently one of the largest VoIP providers in the US and they can now validate their intercarrier billing easily and cost effectively resulting in improved cash flow and revenue. In addition to the accounts receivable and payable benefits, the usage reports generated also provide an additional means of forecasting network traffic. Examples of the reports that are available are shown below.  Custom reports are also available based on individual customer needs.
