Facilities Utilization Reporting
Business Issue:
As Numbers exhaust in the Rate Centers where trunks are located, the
Regional Code Administrators must provision NPA-NXXs in Rate Centers
adjacent to existing trunks. By
analyzing traffic-trends, Engineering can build a leaner trunking network
into the expanded Rate Centers, while optimizing the current trunk-groups.
The resulting traffic-data will also provide Post- & Pre-Pay
substantiation to engineer better Product-Offering decisions.
Today, Customer Care or the Billing/Activations platforms cannot
provide Engineering with this vital data to identify how fast and how far
the Local Service Area is being enlarged. CDR Applicability: A query of CDRs can identify customers that are:
Providing
subscribers and trunking management with this information will reduce churn
and give a competitive advantage in the market place, while saving money on
an leaner network. Trunk utilization reports include:
These
reports provide the basis for management of the traffic as described above.
By
analyzing the busy hour reports, you gain valuable insight into what
facilities are being utilized and proactively should be required.
Additionally, you may find areas of overcapacity where consolidation may be
possible. Or you may find areas where consolidation of several smaller
facilities may be combined into a single larger facility.
The
number status reports generated as a result of the NPA initiative will be
helpful in more effectively managing your inventory of available and in use
numbers / subscribers. When combined with the trunk group analysis and busy
hour analysis, you have the tools to effectively manage your network
traffic. Another report is Percentage of capacity by trunk group, by hour.
