Provision to Bill Reconciliation – Usage Meter Accuracy Analysis – Data Consumption Modeling

The IP traffic boom is in full swing and if forecasts are accurate global IP traffic will increase nearly threefold over the next 5 years!  The number of devices connecting to IP networks and the volume of content available to download is increasing every day.  The big question is, are you prepared to handle the challenges (and reap the benefits) that the data boom is bringing?

Given the technical and business challenges in the new broadband environment, revenue leakage is almost guaranteed. Providers can expect an increase in incomplete transaction capture, rating and billing disagreements, and misguided (or unguided) usage.

ATS’ broadband solutions ensure end to end revenue stream coverage for your internet services.  Our approach begins at the network level and moves downstream from usage collection and measurement all the way to billing accuracy.  If you currently offer usage based billing options or will be in the future, ATS’ solutions will ensure you are billing the right customer for the right amount every time.

broadband revenue stream assurance

Network Inventory Reconciliation – Identify potential stranded assets and prevent unnecessary capex spending on equipment.

Reference Data Element Comparison – ATS frequently finds that equipment identification information such as MAC addresses can be recorded incorrectly at some point in the data chain and as a result the customer’s usage will not flow downstream correctly causing potentially incorrect billing (over-billing and/or under-billing).

Provisioned to Bill Bundle Audit – Compare speed/volume parameters that a customer is billed for vs. what they are provisioned. Identify and correct both under-billing and over-billing errors. Over-billing errors significantly increase the risk of a customer churning.

Usage Meter Accuracy Analysis – ATS performs end-to-end tests to validate whether the usage meter accurately depicts a customer’s true traffic volume.  We test the meter system using an independent, dedicated system that generates sufficient traffic volume and subsequently track that volume downstream to ensure proper measurement and billing.

Subscriber Data Consumption Modeling – Data consumption analysis using proprietary statistical models to track and trend data usage with alarming capabilities to indicate when consumption has gone above or below the expected thresholds. Data modeling helps providers make network as well as marketing decisions based on hard data.
